Inter-region tournaments are always the most exciting ones (see M2) because we get to see the best of each region competing against players from other regions. While it’ll be a while before we get another global Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event, we have the next best thing coming up – the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup or better known as MSC! Returning this year after being cancelled in 2020, the tournament will have the best teams of Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Notably absent is Myanmar but based on current events, we can see why.

At the moment, we only have the dates for MSC 2021. It will take place from 7-13 June:

  • 7-8 June: Group Stage 1
  • 9 June: Group Stage 2
  • 11-13 June: Playoffs
  • 13 June: Grand Final

There will be a total of 12 teams competing, and it will be held completely online (for the first time since the beginning of MSC). This year’s prize pool will be USD 15,000 and for the viewers, there are going to be special in-game events and time-limited skins to obtain.

Based on the dates we can speculate on the format – it looks like it might be similar to M2’s Pool format, with top teams of each group moving to the playoffs, while the other teams face against each other for the remaining spots. Since nothing is set in stone yet, we’ll just have to wait for more details in the coming weeks. One thing is for sure though: the guaranteed inter-region matches which will be a treat for MLBB fans!

We’ll keep you updated once we learn more, in the meantime, you can visit the official MSC 2021 website, or follow eGG Network for more details.
